The 6' Guppy:

The 6’ Guppy is the a great option for the more price conscious beginner surfer. We categorize the 8’ & 6’ & 5' Guppy as basic beginner boards as compared to our premium boards, they simply don’t have the same deluxe extras built into the board.

The 6’ Guppy surfboards don’t cheap out by any means, they simply consist of the best and most essential basics needed for a beginner surfboard.

We wanted to create an 6’ shape that still featured premium quality materials and signature ease of use associated with SBBC boards, but wanted to make sure we could offer the 5’ guppy at an extremely friendly price.

The 6’ Guppy is available in two color options: Blue/White Stripes & Pink/White stripes. The stripes are custom printed but have the look of an off-set resin color stain usually seen on professional hardboards. The slightly textured surface, while not wax-free like our other premium beginner boards, still provides a great texture to quickly add wax to.

The 8’ and 6’ and 5' Guppy are the best value, price conscious beginner surfboards available in the industry today.

Being 6’ long, 21” wide and 3” thick, this 6’ Guppy is great for small kids and pre-teens (under 125lbs is best). It’s our thickest surfboard that we carry and this is meant to add as much float and paddle ability to the board. This makes it way easier to paddle and catch waves with, making it a very fun experience for beginner surfers.

The length and thickness and overall general shape is best for surfing crumbly whitewash and waves up to 2’ - for brand new beginners, we do not recommend learning in surf bigger than 2’ unless you are with an instructor in the water.
